Wong Fong Recognises Employee Contribution Through Stake in Myanmar Subsidiary
Wong Fong Industries Limited has announced a change in the shareholding structure of Wong Fong Myanmar Company Limited (WFM), following the transfer of a 10% stake in the subsidiary to an employee of the Group.
Effective 1 January 2026, Wong Fong Industries transferred 10% of WFM’s issued and paid-up share capital to Wai Phyo, an employee of the Group, in recognition of her services and contributions to the Company. Following the transfer, Wong Fong Industries continues to hold a majority 90% stake in WFM, while Wai Phyo holds the remaining 10%.
The development reflects Wong Fong’s recognition of the people who contribute to its businesses and operations. By giving an employee a direct stake in the subsidiary, the Group has created a closer alignment between individual contribution and participation in the business.
The transfer was made for a cash consideration of S$1 and is not expected to have a material impact on the Group’s net tangible assets or earnings per share for the financial year ending 31 December 2026.
Wong Fong Myanmar Company Limited remains part of the Group, with Wong Fong Industries retaining overall majority ownership and control following the transfer.
