Wong Fong Industries Holds 2026 Annual General Meeting
Wong Fong Industries Limited held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 29 April 2026 at its premises at 79 Joo Koon Circle, Singapore. The meeting provided an opportunity for shareholders to engage directly with the Board and management on the Group’s performance, business direction and priorities for the future.
During the AGM, shareholders approved the adoption of the Company’s FY2025 audited financial statements and the declaration of the recommended final dividend of 1.00 Singapore cents per share and special dividend of 0.20 Singapore cents per share. Shareholders also approved the re-election of three directors, directors’ fees for FY2026 and the re-appointment of BDO LLP as auditors.
Other resolutions approved at the meeting included the authority to allot and issue shares, the authority to grant awards under the Wong Fong Performance Share Plan, and the renewal of the Company’s Share Buyback Mandate.
Looking Beyond the Resolutions
The AGM also provided a platform for shareholders to raise questions on issues extending beyond the formal agenda.
Among the topics discussed was the Group’s approach to solar energy and sustainability. Management explained that the disposal of one of its Singapore properties had reduced the Group’s overall solar generation capacity, while noting that its factories remain equipped with solar energy systems. The Group is reviewing its existing solar infrastructure and has set a target to increase solar energy consumption by 2% in FY2026.
Shareholders also asked about the Group’s operations in Myanmar, its investment in Botsync, and the development of technology-driven solutions within the Group. Management explained that the Botsync investment was viewed as a strategic capability enhancement, giving Wong Fong exposure to robotics and opportunities to strengthen its technological capabilities rather than serving purely as a financial investment.
The discussion also touched on the Group’s approach to employee remuneration and shareholder returns. Management highlighted the importance of maintaining a competitive workforce while aligning variable rewards with both Company performance and individual contributions. On dividends, the Board reiterated its commitment to sustainable payouts while balancing shareholder returns with operating requirements and potential future expansion opportunities.
The AGM concluded at 11.30 a.m. with the resolutions duly considered and voted upon by shareholders.
The meeting reflects Wong Fong’s continued emphasis on open dialogue with shareholders, responsible governance and long-term business development, while maintaining focus on the Group’s Engineering, Training and Technology capabilities.
